Frequently Asked Questions

  • You’re about 5,000 feet higher than you normally live and in a desert. Here are some tips to have a good trip:

    1. Drink water. Lots of it. It’s recommended that tourists try to drink between 100- 150 ounces of water a day.

    2. Eat food. Your body is working harder than normal. It’s going to need more fuel than usual.

    3. But don’t eat sugar. Be careful of too many sweets. Sugar tends to make the symptoms worse.

    4. Best (and easiest) supplements to help combat altitude sickness: B9, B12, C, E, Magnesium.

    5. Take ibuprofen. It helps relieve the swelling and inflammation triggered at higher elevations.

    6. If you need supplements or ibuprofen just ask parents or sister of the bride. They will be stocked. (Remember, Sam is a functional medicine practitioner. We have plenty of supplements!)

  • Keep in mind that the sun is about 30% stronger here in Colorado than at sea level. You will burn more easily. We will have sunscreen at the venue, but please also think about this beforehand. You will be outside for the ceremony, which is 30 minutes long. The venue also has some lawn games and a gorgeous deck. If you want to be outside longer to enjoy those, plan accordingly.

  • Because we’re at higher altitude, you will also feel the effects of alcohol more easily. Drink water, eat food, and slow your roll…..at least before Saturday night. Then party as much as you want to!

  • Most of you are flying in and will arrive at DEN. Rental cars are off site and require a bus. Go to floor 5 with the baggage return and find the bus that takes you to your rental company.

RTD is the bus service with regular busses between the airport and Boulder. The AB1 line runs regularly from the airport to downtown Boulder. Use this link (RTD Plan a Trip) and adjust based on arrival time.

Boulder is easily walkable and has ride shares/taxis as needed. Shuttles are provided for transport to and from Lionscrest Manor on Saturday.

RTD is currently free so hop on any bus you see!

  • The attire is Formal/Cocktail. The ceremony is on grass and we expect it to be hot. Jackets optional. We recommend sunscreen.
